Animal adoption rules

I. Application of Tax

 

1.1. If the animal is returned by the real owner from a permanent home, a one-time fee of 50 euros is applied to cover the initial costs of keeping the animal.

 

II. Conditions for accepting an animal

 

2.1. When accepting an animal, the organization has the rights provided for these conditions to ensure the well-being of other animals belonging to the person who gives the animal and to prevent unjustified breeding of animals. When accepting an animal, the organization may impose additional conditions on the giving person.

 

III. Obligations of the previous owner / person who found the animal

3.1. The person who is giving an animal to the shelter is obliged to give true and detailed information to the organisation about the animal before signing the animal acceptance act. This includes information about the animal’s illnesses (if any), current health situation, instances of aggression and other relevant information.

 

3.3. The person giving an animal away confirms that they are familiar with the conditions provided by the shelter and that they understand the risks of keeping the animal at the shelter, including but not limited to:

 

3.4. The person giving an animal to the shelter also confirms that they are not recognized as incapacitated in this area in accordance with the law. A person whose capacity is limited in this area can give an animal to the shelter only with the consent of a guardian.

 

IV. Obligations of the organization

 

4.1. The organization undertakes to properly foster and take care of the animal in compliance with the requirements of the legal acts governing the care, keeping, use, breeding, transportation and treatment of animals in force in the Republic of Lithuania.

 

4.2. If requested by the owner, the organization undertakes to allow the owner to visit the shelter and show the conditions of animal keeping before signing the act of acceptance for the animal.

 

4.3. The organization also undertakes to use the fee paid by the person giving the animal, in accordance with the procedure established by the law on charity and support of the Republic of Lithuania.

 

V. Other conditions

 

5.1. Parties confirm that they have read these terms and that they understand the stated rights and responsibilities, they must also confirm that they were given all the necessary information according to these conditions.

 

5.2. Parties in carrying out these terms and conditions commit to act in good faith and honestly, to strive in every possible way to ensure the animal’s well-being

 

5.3. Parties commit to protect and keep personal information undisclosed for third parties without permission from the other party involved. Also, to process personal data on the basis of the European Union legal acts and the laws of the Republic of Lithuania and only to the extent necessary for the implementation of the requirements of the agreement and applicable legal acts (REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, CHAPTER II – Principles –  Article 5 – parts 1 (b) and (c).)

 

5.4. Disputes arisen from these conditions are to be solved by negotiating, failing to find a solution, contact the district court of the city of Vilnius and act according to the procedure established by legal acts.
